Admission to the program is a simple process.
1. Each individual must complete our Online Admission Form.
2. Call our Admissions Office at 1-800-897-8060 for information and admission and/or email us at info@alternative2rehab.com for information regarding admission.
Previous addiction or psychological treatment information should be provided to assist our staff in the admission process. We can assist you with the appropriate release of information forms for doctors, treatment programs, and hospitals.
As physical fitness and alternative healing activities are an important part of the rehabilitative process, clients will be expected to actively participate in all scheduled activities unless a medically recognized physical limitation prohibits participation.
Medication Instructions
Clients accepted for admission to the program and bringing prescribed medications
with them will be required to bring a 30 day supply only in the original bottles.
Medications over a thirty day supply will be disposed of during the intake process.
Clients accepted for admission to the program will be requested not to
bring over the counter medications or vitamins of any kind. If over the counter
medications or vitamins are needed, the Medical Director will evaluate and recommend as needed.
Additionally, if clients wish to take any over-the-counter medications and/or vitamins, the
client must bring an order from their physician. Over-the-counter medications and vitamins will
also need to be secured with all other medications and medication monitoring procedures
followed while the client is in treatment.
Admission to the program may be delayed due to:
1. Continuing withdrawal symptoms.
2. Severe psychiatric disorders in need of acute hospitalization.
3. Severe sexual disorders.
4. Disruptive or aggressive behaviors that are incompatible with a small group living environment.
5. Incomplete detoxification from benzodiazepine addiction.
6. Incomplete detoxification from methadone addiction.
7. Infectious, communicable or contagious diseases.
Should admission be delayed, you would be referred to an
appropriate facility as indicated.
Psychiatric evaluations and medication prescriptions can be provided when indicated.
Because not all of our clients require a psychiatric evaluation and/or medications, a referral to our Psychiatrist can be scheduled when indicated. These services are separate from the Program fee and are paid directly to the Psychiatrist, not to the Program.
Transportation
Transportation is provided from the airport upon arrival and return to the airport upon completion of your scheduled program. You will be flying into Tampa International Airport, Tampa, Florida. Alternative Treatment International is a twenty minute to one half hour ride from the airport.
Residential Community Requirements:
The Residential Community used by Alternative Treatment International for the client living quarters
requires a criminal background screening prior to admission to the program and the living quarters.
Required will be your name and social security number. Background screenings prohibit felonies and
certain misdemeanors. You will be notified as to the results prior to your final scheduling of admission.
PERCEPTIONS OF RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT PROGRAMS
Residential Treatment Programs are sought out by
individuals and families for a wide variety of reasons.
Some individuals may show serious commitment to
resolving their substance abuse and/or psycho-emotional
disorders. They desire to feel healthier, stronger, in
control of their lives, and to find the sense of hope
and peace that they seek. Others seek a residential
treatment program for reasons that may include legal,
family, employment, or health issues. Others may just
want to stop use for awhile, gain some clarity, and
continue on with the same destructive behaviors.
It is easy to see that treatment outcomes regarding
success or failure may depend heavily on the clients’
mindset, intent and purpose, and level of commitment
upon entering a program. A great deal of burden is
placed on the program by the individual seeking
treatment or the families to “fix” or stop the person
from continuing their destructive behaviors such as drug
abuse, alcohol abuse, eating disorder, or other
self-harming behaviors. This is only a perception, not
the actual truth. The truth is the program’s ability to
provide their services, therapies, planning and
guidance. In the end, it is always the clients’
responsibility and commitment to take advantage of the
program’s services and guidance, and use those services
to achieve the level of success that they seek.
Realistically, one type of program, philosophy, or
clinical therapy cannot be the answer for everyone.
There are just too many variables, sets of
circumstances, individual preferences, individual
personalities and client objectives to consider only one
philosophy to serve all clients successfully.
As a voluntary residential treatment program, A.T.I.
provides staff on duty 24-hours per day to transport,
assist, implement the daily schedule, and be available
to follow the directives as stated by the Executive
Director and Clinical staff - not to control the
clients. To enter A.T.I., clients need to chose to remain
abstinent during their stay and chose to put their
efforts into their goals and objectives perceived prior
to entering treatment and into their treatment plan
which is developed with their primary therapist upon
admission. Clients of A.T.I. are those that seek positive
changes in their lives, are willing to work to resolve
the underlying issues, gain the self-awareness needed to
remain drug and alcohol free upon discharge from the
program and reentry into their home environment. At
A.T.I.,
we treat you with respect and dignity and require the
same in return.
Deciding to enter a residential treatment program allows
you to take a step back from your situation, let go of
the need for control, and follow the daily schedule that
has been designed to provide you with support, guidance
and a path to your recovery.
