"ATI Wellness Expands"

Clearwater - Alternative Treatment International Inc.'s ATI Wellness Luxury Medical/Spa Detox Program hosted a grand opening ceremony Aug. 19 for its new detox facility at 2120 Range Road.

The ATI Addictions and Mental Health Treatment Program has been operating in Clearwater for 10 years and now will open its new detox program that will create 14 new jobs.

ATI is a joint commission nationally accredited and fully licensed in Florida. It is a residential treatment program that follows a clinical and holistic approach. ATI provides non-12-step, individualized, clinical therapeutic programming within a peaceful tropical setting. Its clients are adults who seek out a highly advanced inpatient therapeutic environment. ATI uses its innovative and successful Perception Therapy therapeutic treatment model and its own Mind-Body-Spirit-Environment approach.

Meyers has developed a treatment model called "Perception Therapy" that has some similarities to cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) but is highly insight-oriented. Treatment at the residential facility includes two sessions of individual psychotherapy per week and some small group therapy. He says of the latter, "This is not war stories; we talk about changing people's perceptions."
